75 minute

Today is a very special day for beer lovers.  Dogfish Head has once again produced their 75 Minute IPA.  The 75 Minute IPA is:

a blend of 60 and 90 Minute IPAs with a special whole leaf cascade dry-hopping session. Post-hopping the beer gest transferred into firkins and dosed with fresh yeast and maple syrup from the ole family homestead (actually the first batch will be re-fermented with maple syrup from the farm up the road from ours since ours won’t be ready until late March.  We plan to ramp up our maple house activities to get a lot more syrup for Immort Ale, 75 Minute and future beers in the coming months and years).

This is a very rare beer, and as far as I know available for the first time outside of the Dogfish Head brew pubs.

There are several locations in the NYC area where you will be able to try this beer:

Barcade (Dogfish’s Sam Calagione will be in the house!)
388 Union Avenue Brooklyn
NY 11211

Blind Tiger
281 Bleecker Street
New York, NY 10014

East Village Tavern
158 Avenue C
New York, NY 10009

Dogfish Head is very specific and it looks like the cask will be tapped at 7:50pm tonight (3/26/09). If you want to taste what promises to be a wonderful beer I recommend getting there relatively early…all of these bars have amazing tap lists as it is.  Happy Drinking.

UPDATE: Barcade is having a whole Dogfish Event. Other Dogfish Head beers that will be on tap at Barcade are: 60 Minute IPA, 90 Minute IPA, 120 Minute IPA, Aprihop, Midas Touch, Olde School Barleywine, Paolo Santo Marron, Raison D’Etre, Red and White, and the Rye Porter.
