With each passing day my excitement for Karl Blau’s new album Zebra grows more and more. Earlier this week Pitchfork premiered “Dark Sedan” the second single from the album. Pitchfork said it “is a cut from the new record that features a groovy rhythm section adorned by a wide variety of orchestration, from saxophones to strings to disco keyboards.” This statement is pretty accurate, and again I am impressed with Blau’s arrangement and growth as a musician. If these first two tracks from Zebra are any indication of the entire album it won’t be leaving my turntable for a very long time. I think I can honestly say that this is my most anticipated album of 2009.
