It’s been almost a full year since I started the Great Pumpkin, and I remember back in January some of my first big posts were my best of 2008 posts.  For 2008 I did two lists: best albums and best eps…but this year I have bigger and better things planned.

I have asked some people that I have been in close contact with if they would like to contribute best of 2009 lists to the Great Pumpkin.  All of these people I have had a slightly deeper interaction with than others, and these interactions were made possible by my blog.  All of them are people who’s opinions I respect, and I will be posting their lists over the next couple weeks.

There are several bands and record labels contributing, as well as my favorite record shop.

These people include:  So Cow, Julian Lynch, BOAT, JAILL (formerly known as JAIL), Group Tightener Records, Mirror Universe Tapes, Fayettenam Records, and Permanent Records of Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

I’m very excited to see what these people loved this year, and I hope you are too.

In addition to these guest lists I will be posting my favorite albums, eps, and songs…as well as a best of 2009 mix tape for download.

I look forward to things to come, and bringing you these best of lists by people who made and release great music into the world.  Keep an eye out this all starts very soon!
